A long time ago, when I was about five, my dad used to work nights. My mom was a stay at home mom with two two babies, and a young child. That young child was me. My dad worked at the Wal-Mart D.C...Since my mom wasn't working, money was always tight. I was little and didn't really know much about the budget but i knew we weren't rich by any means.
My dad would get off work at about five in the morning and get home around six. He would always come home, take off his shoes, and jacket, turn on the t.v., get a small pillow off the couch, and fall asleep on the living room floor. I would wake up and go out to the living room. I would sit by my dad and kinda move around to make little noises hoping he would wake up. When he did, he would tell me good morning and i would say it back. Then on occasion, we would get up and get our shoes and jackets on and leave. Their used to be a little donut shop by our house about five minutes away. He would take me and we would get donuts for breakfast. I still remember sitting in the car and looking at the clock and it saying 7:01. I looked outside and the sun was starting to come up but it was cloudy. There was lightning up in the clouds and i got kind of scared. I didn't show it though. We were going through little back roads in older neighborhoods to get to the donut shop. I was excited but nervous at the same time. I was nervous because of the it being cloudy and seeing the lightning. I used to be very scared of thunder and lightning and storms. I would also get kind of scared when it would be cloudy out and there would be strong wind. But i've always tried to hide my fear. I always loved going to the donut shop early in the morning with my daddy. It was a nice to have some daddy daughter bonding time.
